Strong first year energises Greenfields

A fledgling energy management consultancy that supports industry has enjoyed a promising first 12 months. Greenfields Energy Group, which was set-up by Liam Conway and Rich Clark, has gained 72 clients in its first year, with the majority coming from the manufacturing sector.

The duo now manage more than 361,172,009 kWh of contracts and this number is growing due to exciting new partnerships with the Surface Engineering Association and the Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM). The West Midlands-based firm subsequently pressed the button on a major recruitment drive, securing two prominent hires in Neil Freeman and Lindsay Williams as account director and head of energy bureau, respectively.

AGS strikes up Danobat partnership

Coventry, UK-based Advanced Grinding Solutions (AGS) in entering a new partnership with Danobat, the Spanish manufacturer of internal, external and combined multi-tasking grinding machines. Chris Boraston, managing director at AGS, says that Danobat approached AGS at this year’s MACH 2024 show in Birmingham about the possibility of working together in the UK. That conversation led to a further meeting at the recent BIEMH exhibition in Bilbao, where AGS agreed a collaboration to promote Danobat’s range of grinding machines in the UK marketplace.

Matsuura raises £31k+ for Stroke Association

Through the generous support of its customers, suppliers and staff, Matsuura UK has successfully raised £31,855 for the Stroke Association. This substantial amount was generated through a combination of donations made to the company’s JustGiving page and prizes for its raffle.

The decision to support the Stroke Association was particularly significant for Matsuura this year, as the company’s friend and retired director Dave Edwards recently suffered a stroke. Raising funds for the Stroke Association was Matsuura UK’s way of honouring Dave and contributing to an organisation that provides crucial support to individuals and families affected by stroke. CBE+, a multi-disciplinary subcontractor specialising in precision engineering, celebrated five years of engineering excellence with a recent open day at its 100,000 ft² manufacturing facility in Chesterfield. The event offered an exclusive opportunity for customers, prospective customers and suppliers to explore CBE+’s capabilities. More than 30 attendees witnessed the advanced manufacturing processes that position CBE+ as a major supply chain provider within the engineering industry. Made Smarter launches peer network

Made Smarter North West has launched a new peer-to-peer network that aims to
accelerate digital adoption among SME manufacturers. The Digital Champions Network
brings together businesses that have engaged with Made Smarter’s adoption programme,
including graduates of its Leading Digital Transformation and Leading Change for Digital
Champions programmes.
The initiative will connect employees actively engaged in digitalisation, from the top floor to
the shop floor, at different stages of technology adoption. In-person and online events will
