Optical Gaging Products (OGP), a manufacturer of precision optical and multi-sensor metrology systems, has introduced SmartScope E18, a high-capacity benchtop video measurement system delivering fully automatic three-axis measurement in a compact footprint. 

SmartScope E18 combines a 300 x 300 mm XY measuring range with a space-efficient benchtop design, making it suited to production environments, quality laboratories and other applications where floor space is limited. 

At its heart is OGP’s IntelliCentric-E fixed-lens optical system, which provides high-resolution imaging for precise video measurement. VIRTUAL ZOOM technology further enhances image detail and measurement capability, helping users inspect a wide range of part features efficiently. 

“With its 300 x 300 mm stage in a benchtop format, SmartScope E18 brings the capabilities manufacturers need for automated video measurement into a compact and cost-effective platform,” says Fabian Werner, OGP EMEA – regional sales director. “By maximising the available XY measuring range while minimising the system footprint, the E18 gives manufacturers a practical way to increase measurement automation without compromising valuable production space.” 

A comprehensive LED lighting system comes as standard, incorporating coaxial, sub-stage profile and SmartRing illumination to optimise image contrast across different part features. 

The compact fixed-bridge design and heavy-duty base provide a rigid, stable structure engineered for accurate, repeatable measurement, while the orthogonal construction maintains stability without increasing the footprint. 

An optional touch probe extends the E18’s capabilities to multi-sensor measurement, allowing optical and tactile inspection within a single automated platform. 

SmartScope E18 comes standard with Measure-X software. ZONE3 software is also available for applications requiring full 3D capability and advanced functionality.
