Femtosecond laser manufacturer LITILIT has received an €8m loan from the Lithuanian National Development Bank (ILTE) for developing a femtosecond laser modular system (FEMODA) intended to accelerate the adoption of advanced lasers. Technology commercialisation is planned for the second half of 2029. Currently, femtosecond lasers see most use in the production of high-value small parts. The new laser system will open new applications in industries such as the mass production of metal tools and the formation of specialised coatings on large surfaces, like aircraft or car bodies.
