A major £500,000 investment drive has reached its final stage at a Telford-based precision manufacturer with the arrival of two new state-of-the-art etching machines. Advanced Chemical Etching (ACE), which has recently boosted its workforce by 12%, has taken delivery of two Chemcut Etch machines at its facility in a bid to meet increasing global demand from the aerospace, electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell markets. The acquisitions will increase the firm’s etching capacity by 30% and help customers bring their designs and prototypes to market quicker.

Mastercam keeps top ranking

Mastercam is the most widely used CAM system in the world for the 28th year in a row. According to independent research firm CIMdata, Mastercam now has more than 300,000 seats installed. Metalex Vietnam: shaping the new normal

The 15th edition of Metalex Vietnam will take place later this week (6-8 October) in Ho Chi Minh City. Trumpf offers pay-per-part business model

The EuroBLECH 2022 exhibition (Hanover, 25-28 October) will see Trumpf unveil a new digital pay-per-part business model for its full-service TruLaser Center 7030 laser cutter. Using an equipment-as-a-service (EAAS) model, the company will supply customers with this high-output machine along with a material storage system. These customers will be able to use the TruLaser Center 7030 for their own manufacturing requirements.

Trumpf will have access to the machine from its remote control centre in Neukirch without the customer having to be present all the time. For this purpose, the full-service laser machine is fitted with cameras, sensors and remote-control systems. Trumpf will be able to schedule and oversee manufacturing processes remotely, and provide machine programming and maintenance.
