Renishaw commences formal sale process

Renishaw founders Sir David McMurtry and John Deer – executive chairman and non-executive deputy chairman, respectively – have indicated to the board their intention to sell their substantial shareholdings (53% combined) in the company. The board has therefore concluded it would be appropriate to investigate the sale of Renishaw and is launching a formal sale process. It is the intention of the board to seek a buyer who will respect the company’s heritage and culture, its commitment to local communities, and who will enable the business to continue its prosperity in the long term.
